Colonel Buche is a careerinfantry officer who was commissioned in the Regular Army from theUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison ROTC Program in 1984. He is currentlyassigned as the chief of staff for NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan /Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan, the organizationresponsible for the growth and development of the Afghan NationalSecurity Forces. In this capacity, he supervises a staff of several hundredofficers, noncommissioned and petty officers, and troopers from the fiveUS military services and several coalition nations.Following a casual gathering of networking and camaraderie at theheadquarters of the Lake County Bar Association, Colonel Buche will providean insider’s perspective and respond to questions about US military activitiesin Afghanistan.
