The Lawyer Referral Services of the LCBA is designed to provide Lake County residents an alternative method to locate qualified Lake County attorneys in specific areas of law. In return, it provides members of the LCBA with another potential referral source. With the recent plethora of advertising and lax regulations concerning their contents many prospective clients refer to the phone book, direct mailing or the internet to locate a Lake County attorney. Due to the lack of guidance or enforcement of legal advertising the information contained in this advertising is often exaggerated, misleading and sometimes even false. The LRS takes great pride in its screening process as every member must complete an extensive application detailing their education, experience, any disciplinary action and trial skills. To be accepted into the LRS, each applicant must have sufficient practical experience in their specific area of law and have maintained malpractice insurance. Since the LRS attorneys are placed on panels regarding their specific area of expertise the public can be assured that their choice of hiring a member of the LRS will provide them with a competent, experienced and talented Lake County attorney. |
